Easter 2010

This Easter, we didn't do much. Didier was in the US, so it was just the kids and myself. We slept in, had eggs for breakfast, and the kids got Easter baskets. Emily got Play-doh from the Easter Bunny, and the boys got HUGE stuffed bears.

The Boys Easter baskets

Emily's Easter basket (minus the chocolate bunny which she had eaten before I got the camera)

Emily loved her chocolate easter bunny. She ate the whole thing in less than 5 minutes

Each of the boys got a stuffed Bear that is bigger than they are! They love them and snuggle up with them every time they see them.

Bath time!

Bath time is always fun at our house. Not only do the kids get wet, but the ceiling, walls and floor do as well!!

Good-bye Kelsey!!!

I don't have many pictures from the Price's Farewell Party and the ones I have are of Emily and Kelsey. We were so sad to see the Price's move back to the US, but hopefully we can see each other again so that the girls can play together.

I don't think the girls understood that this was almost the last time they'd see each other. They had such a great time playing and eating!!

PS. Jess, we think of you guys almost every day. Emily STILL asks for Kelsey all the time. Lots of love from Switzerland.

Fun in the Snow!

We had a LOT of snow this winter, so naturally we spent some time outside in it. Most of the time we just went out into the yard, but we also went sledding with Malena and Menja (cousins).

Christmas: Part 1

As per tradition, the whole Schluchter family got together a couple days before Christmas to celebrate with food, presents, and conversation. This year Suzanne and Neville hosted the festivities at their home. We had so much fun!!!

Getting ready for Christmas!

This years attempt at making gingerbread houses went much better than last years for several reasons. 1) I found pre-made gingerbread (pre-cut and everything!!) at the store, so I didn't have to bake it myself 2) Emily can actually decorate 3) the candy (decoration) options were much better this year 4) it was actually enjoyable. Here are some pictures.

Em contemplating what to do next.

Emily Decorating

Most of the candy didn't make it to the house.

Our finished Houses. Emily's is on the right and mine on the left.

I tried to get a good picture of the 3 kids for Christmas/New Year cards, but they didn't co-operate very well. I did get a couple cute ones though in the few minutes I got out of them.

Emily and Dominic have really cheesy smiles

The finished product! Not quite what I wanted, but with 3 small, very active kids I only got 4 minutes before they wouldn't sit anymore

Let it Snow!!!!

Winter has arrived. One day it was a nice balmy fall day, and the next there was several inches of snow on the ground and it was below freezing. Correction. Not just snow on the ground, but falling blizzard style from the clouds. Here are just some pictures to give you an idea of how much snow we got in 2 days time.

Thanksgiving 2009

Just Kidding. We didn't really have Thanksgiving this year. It's an American Holiday that is not celebrated in Switzerland and I'm very THANKFUL that I didn't have to go through the stress of making a huge dinner, decorating, et cetera. But even though we didn't celebrate, we do have a LOT to be thankful for. One of those things is family outings. Didier's job may take him out of town a lot, but usually he is able to take an afternoon (or even a full day) off to spend some time with us. Didier took a day off right before thanksgiving and we all went to the Wild animal park just down the hill from us.
